Universal Credit Standard Allowance Increases — April 2025
Universal Credit standard allowances and elements have increased from April 2025. Single claimants aged 25 and over now receive £393.45 per month before any deductions.
Universal Credit Rates from April 2025
Universal Credit rates increased by 1.7% from 7 April 2025. Here are the key changes:

Work Allowances
Work allowances — the amount you can earn before UC starts to reduce — also increased:
- Higher work allowance (no housing costs): £673/month
- Lower work allowance (with housing costs): £404/month
The taper rate remains at 55p for every £1 earned above the work allowance.
